Some say schools should be none of the HBA’s business. However, many of us believe our schools are critical to our business future. We discovered that the school administrators themselves also believe it should not be any of our business or even the parent’s business. DEI has become the new buzzword. Equity is replacing Equality, meaning the focus is on mediocrity versus excellence. Science is being denied as our schools adopt policies of gender fluidity, denying that gender is established at birth. The HBA chose to join with others to support a slate of four candidates for the open positions on the school board. While our organization’s financial support was small (<$1,000), our impact was significant. The Community awakened;. There was widespread interest in this election; a vigorous campaign ensued. Three of the four outsider candidates we supported won! The newly elected board members are demanding accountability and answers. The HBA played a minor but important role. The rest of this fight will be up to the Community.
