The HBA MISSION
“Assist Hartland area businesses become established and successful by helping to improve the regulatory climate, supporting the membership in negotiating with the Township, and promoting Hartland as a place to do business.”
The Association has created a “working definition” of Business Friendly – which is our attempt to define the end objective: making it easier for businesses to survive and prosper in Hartland. We stress that this is a “working definition”, which likely will be refined over time.

Our members share a belief that our elected officials should join with us in our mission – to make Hartland a better place for business.
In 2021, the HBA supported the successful candidacy of 2 new Trustees. In 2022, we applauded the installation of a new more business friendly Township Manager and we were hopeful that a more business friendly atmosphere would result. While these were steps in a positive direction, there were no lasting improvements in the regulatory climate and that Manager is now gone. Instead, the position of the majority of the Board remains: “OUR REGULATIONS ARE BY DEFINITION BUSINESS FRIENDLY”.
